We brought cochlear implants to Sri Lanka in 2004 and built the audiology service that supports them, so the team that programmes your implant has been doing this longer than anyone else in the country. Today we supply the Nexa smart implant, the Profile Plus series, the Nucleus 8 sound processor, the off-the-ear Kanso 2 and Kanso 3, and the Osia bone conduction system.

Cochlear Nucleus Implant Systems
Designed for children and adults with severe or profound hearing loss in both ears who cannot hear well enough with hearing aids. The implant goes around damaged hair cells in the inner ear and sends signals directly to the hearing nerve.

Bone Conduction (BAHA): Osia and Baha Start
For conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss or deafness in one ear. Bone conduction sends sound through the bone straight to the inner ear, going around the ear canal and middle ear. Many ENT surgeons call a bone conduction implant a BAHA.

Surgery
Cochlear-trained surgeons we recommend, at the best hospitals in the country, using Cochlear's SmartNav system. Our audiologists are with you before, during and after the operation.
Activation & Mapping
A few weeks after surgery, our audiologists switch on the sound processor and tune it to you. This is called mapping, and it is adjusted at follow-up visits as your hearing adapts.
